Abstract Hot forging processes and process chains provide components, which meet highest demands due to mechanical properties. A wide range of applications in different industries like oil gas, automotive aviation are based on such processes. As those very productive unfavorable conditions unnecessary reject or rework a strong issues still not solved for industrial scale production. One key challenge is generate geometrical information the workpiece. The characterization hot forged parts usually carried out cold condition resulting an extensive time delay processing. Information about part geometry during processing right after – -- accessible. An approach address this radar measuring systems. Those systems have specific characteristics sufficient accuracy robustness qualifies them tasks under rough typically occurring In paper, use cases application radar-based identified analyses laboratory experiments.
